Engagement photo shoots are a beautiful way to celebrate love and commitment. Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing a lovely Jamaican couple whose love story was as vibrant and warm as the island itself. We chose three distinct settings to capture their unique bond: a rose background, a grand staircase, and an orange sunset.

Our first location was at FD photo studio in Astoria. The lush, colorful blooms provided a perfect backdrop for the couple’s radiant smiles. The roses symbolize love and passion, making them an ideal setting for engagement photos. We captured various poses, from the groom sitting down to a traditional engagement shot for invitation. The natural beauty of the roses complemented their love story, creating timeless and romantic images.

Next, we moved to a grand staircase that added a touch of elegance and sophistication to the shoot. The couple posed on the steps, with the bride-to-be’s dress cascading beautifully down the stairs. This setting allowed us to play with different angles and perspectives. We captured shots of them sitting closely together, sharing a quiet moment, and standing at the top of the staircase, looking out towards their future. The architecture of the staircase provided a majestic feel, highlighting the couple’s grace and poise.

Finally, the last room where we capture the magic of an orange sunset background.  Even without a real sunset, we captured a series of intimate and fun moments. The couple shared a pose on the bike, giving Jamaican flavors and vibes; a loving embrace, with both of them smiling; and candid dancing shots, as the shoot wouldn't be complete without blasting Buju Banton in the background. They did many poses together, the faux sunset casting a magical glow behind them. Each shot was carefully planned to maintain the fun aspect of a summer night and day in Jamaica.
